Body-Solid G9B Dual Stack Multi-Station Gym with Leg Press

The G9B is a seven station gym built on two independent 210 lb. weight stacks, so two people train at the same time and neither one touches the other's weight. The leg press runs a 2:1 cable ratio and pushes back with up to 420 lb. The G9B is Body-Solid's current version of this machine and it replaces the G9S.

Intended use: Light commercial and residential

What sets the G9B apart from a single stack gym

  • Two stacks, not one. Each person gets their own 210 lb. selectorized stack on the same frame. Nobody waits, and nobody has to strip weight to start a set.
  • 420 lb. of leg press resistance. The press station is geared 2:1, so a 210 lb. stack pushes back like 420 lb. With the 260 lb. stack upgrade it reaches 520 lb. A gym without that gearing stops at whatever the stack weighs.
  • Room for three at once. The press arm, the pulleys, and the leg press are far enough apart that three people can work without crowding each other.
  • Cables rated to 2,200 lb. Military spec steel aircraft cable with a nylon sheath, running on 4.5 in. fiberglass reinforced nylon pulleys with machined steel ball bearings.
  • Lifetime warranty in the home. Body-Solid covers every component for life in household use, and the frame and welds for life in a light commercial room.

Seven stations on one frame

  • Leg press and calf press. Up to 420 lb. through the 2:1 linkage, on commercial grade pillow block bearings.
  • Press arm. Chest press, incline press, chest supported mid row, and back hyperextension. Three pairs of hand grips, so you can change your press angle without changing stations.
  • Perfect Pec station. Pec flyes, rear delts, and ab crunches. The swivel arms adjust for range of motion, so you set your own starting stretch.
  • High pulley. Lat pulldowns and triceps pressdowns.
  • Mid pulley. Cable ab crunches, triceps extensions, and lateral flyes.
  • Low pulley. Biceps curls, seated rows, oblique bends, upright rows, lateral raises, and leg abduction and adduction. The seated row foot plate flips up when you are not using it.
  • Leg developer. Leg extensions and leg curls, with self aligning contoured ankle cuffs.

Body-Solid's walkthrough runs the machine station by station, which is the fastest way to judge whether the layout suits how you train.

How much weight does the G9B leg press actually move?

Up to 420 lb. The leg press uses a 2:1 pulley ratio, so every pound on the stack counts twice at the foot plate. Loaded to the full 210 lb. stack you are pressing the equivalent of 420 lb. This is the number most shoppers miss when they see 210 lb. and assume the machine is light for lower body work. Choose the 260 lb. stacks and that figure goes to 520 lb.

Which stack size should you pick?

Most home buyers are well served by the 210 lb. stacks, because the leg press already reaches 420 lb. and the upper body stations rarely need more than 210 lb. Pick the 260 lb. stacks if you have strong lifters using the press arm and the low row, or if the machine is going into a facility where members will outgrow 210 lb. The upgrade arrives as two extra 50 lb. stack sections that bolt onto the standard stacks.

Frequently asked questions

What happened to the G9S?
The G9B replaced it. If you were shopping the G9S, this is the machine you want. The stations, the dual 210 lb. stacks, and the 2:1 leg press all carry over, and the parts schematic is shared between the two models.

How much room do I need for the G9B?
The frame occupies 89 in. long by 76 in. wide by 84 in. tall. Body-Solid rates the live working area, meaning the frame plus the space users actually move through, at 132 in. long by 87 in. wide. Plan for at least 7 ft. of ceiling.

Can three people really use it at the same time?
Yes. The two 210 lb. stacks are independent, and the leg press works off its own travel, so a presser, a puller, and a leg press user can all train without waiting.

Can I add weight to the stacks later?
Yes. Body-Solid sells 50 lb. selectorized stack upgrades that take each stack from 210 lb. to 260 lb. The simplest route is to choose the 260 lb. Stacks option on this page when you order. If you already own the machine, ask us and we will send the upgrade on its own.

How long does assembly take?
Plan a full day, and set aside a second day if you are working alone. This is a 15 carton, 997 lb. machine and routing the cables is the slow part. Professional in home assembly is available, so ask us for a quote before you order.

How does it arrive?
Freight, curbside, with liftgate service included. The 210 lb. build ships as 7 machine cartons plus 8 cartons of weight plates, 15 pieces in all, and the longest carton is about 80 in. Measure your doorway, hallway, and any stairwell turn before delivery day.

Where do I find the manual and the parts diagram?
Both are linked in the Specs & Logistics tab on this page, along with the product data sheet.

Purchase benefits

  • Free freight shipping within the continental United States, curbside with liftgate included
  • Body-Solid warranty: lifetime coverage on every component in household use. In a light commercial room, lifetime on the frame and welds, 3 years on pulleys, bushings, bearings, hardware, plates and guide rods, and 1 year on cables, upholstery and grips. The full terms are in the Warranty tab on this page.

Bottom line: The G9B is the right pick when two or three people need to train at once and you want a real leg press built into the frame rather than bought as a second machine.

Common questions

Does it arrive assembled?

Most equipment arrives partly assembled and needs some setup. How much varies by product, and the Specs & Logistics section on this page lists the requirement for this model.

Will the truck bring it inside?

No. Freight delivery is curbside only. Liftgate service is included, so the item comes off the truck safely, but someone needs to be there to receive it, sign for it, and move it from the curb. Measure your doorways and the path to the room before you order.

Can I pay with a purchase order?

Yes. We work with clinics, schools and municipalities on purchase orders. Here is how it works.

What if it arrives damaged?

Note the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, then contact us. Orders ship insured and carry the manufacturer's warranty, so a damaged or defective item gets repaired or replaced.

How do I know it fits my space?

Check the Specs & Logistics section for assembled dimensions and the clearance to allow around the unit. Measure the room, the doorways, and the route from the curb before you order.
