Body-Solid Pro ClubLine S2FTX Functional Trainer with Dual Stacks
The S2FTX is a full commercial functional trainer with two independent weight stacks on one frame. Two people can train cable work at the same time without waiting on each other, and the whole machine takes up about 30 square feet. The base build carries 320 lb. of plates, not 160, because the number on the option label is the weight per side.
Model: S2FTX (replaces the S2FT). Intended use: full commercial.
How much weight do you actually get?
Twice what the option name says. Each option sets the size of both stacks, so the dual 160 lb. build ships with two 160 lb. stacks, or 320 lb. of plates in total. The dual 310 lb. build carries 620 lb.
The shipping weights confirm it. Moving from dual 160 to dual 210 adds about 100 lb. to the crate, which is 50 lb. on each side. Moving to dual 310 adds about 300 lb., or 150 lb. per side.
Body-Solid does not publish the resistance a lifter feels at the handle on this model, so we do not list a number for it. If you need that figure for a bid or a facility spec sheet, ask us and we will get it from Body-Solid in writing.
How much floor space and ceiling height does it need?
The frame measures 54 in. deep by 79 in. wide. That is a little under 30 square feet of floor. Plan on roughly 4 ft. of clear space on each side so a lifter can step away from the column and run a full cable path.
Ceiling height is the constraint most buyers miss. The S2FTX stands 99 in. tall, which is 8 ft. 3 in. A standard 8 ft. ceiling will not take it. Measure the room before you order, and allow more headroom if anyone will use the chinning bar on top.

Pick the stack size for the strongest people who will use it, not the average. The plates cannot be swapped out later without a service call, so this is the one choice worth spending a minute on.
What comes with it?
- 43 in. revolving straight bar
- 20 in. straight bar
- 14 in. athletic bar
- Two nylon cable handles
- One ankle strap
The chinning bar and the rock climb grips are built into the top of the frame, so they are part of the machine rather than an attachment you add.
How is it built?
- 2 in. by 3 in. 11 gauge steel mainframe
- 34 pulley starting heights on each column
- 63 in. between the two pulleys
- Fully shrouded weight stacks, so plates and cables stay enclosed on an open training floor
- Integrated chinning bar and rock climb grips
- Black powder coat finish
What does the S2FTX look like in use?
Body-Solid's own walkthrough runs the machine through its pulley range and shows the frame from every side. It is the fastest way to judge whether the layout suits how your members actually train, which is something a spec table cannot tell you.
What happened to the S2FT?
Body-Solid renamed it. The S2FTX is the current version of the same Pro ClubLine Series 2 functional trainer, and the old S2FT part numbers are retired. If you are matching a machine you already own or replacing one on a floor plan, this is the right page.
Who should skip it?
Anyone with a ceiling under 8 ft. 6 in., because the frame alone is 8 ft. 3 in. Anyone who only ever has one person on cables at a time, since a single stack trainer costs less and takes less room. And anyone who needs a full width cable crossover with wide stance flye work, because 63 in. between the pulleys is narrower than a true crossover rig.
Common questions
Can two people really use it at once?
Yes. Each side has its own stack, its own cable and its own pulley column, so neither person changes the other person's weight.
Do I get 160 lb. or 320 lb. on the base model?
320 lb. The option name gives the size of each stack, and there are two of them.
Can I add plates to the stacks later?
Not easily. Choose the stack size you need up front. Body-Solid does not sell a plate upgrade kit for this frame the way it does for some home gyms.
How long does assembly take?
Plan on a full day with two people, and a third person for standing the columns up. This is a 900 lb. commercial machine, not a home gym. Many buyers hire a local installer, and we can point you toward one.
Will the truck bring it inside?
No. It ships LTL freight with curbside delivery and a liftgate. Someone needs to be there to sign for it and move it from the curb. Ask us before you order if you need inside delivery quoted.
What warranty does it carry?
Body-Solid's full commercial warranty. Lifetime on the frame and welds, 3 years on pulleys, bushings, bearings, hardware, plates and guide rods, and 1 year on cables, upholstery and grips. The full terms are in the Warranty tab on this page.
Is it rated for a paid gym floor?
Yes. It is a Pro ClubLine machine, which is Body-Solid's full commercial line, and it carries the full commercial warranty.
Bottom line: the S2FTX gives you two complete cable stations in about 30 square feet, with 320 lb. of plates on the base build and up to 620 lb. if you size up. If your floor plan cannot spare 13 ft. for a cable crossover, this is the machine that does the same job in half the room.
