PowerBlock Commercial Pro 50 Adjustable Dumbbells
The Commercial Pro 50 is a pair of adjustable dumbbells that runs from 10 lbs. to 50 lbs. per hand, and the Pro Rack stand is included in the price. Nine weight settings sit inside a single block 12.5 inches long. Bought as fixed dumbbells, those nine pairs come to 540 lbs. of iron and roughly 8 feet of rack. This set does the same job on a stand that takes about 2 feet by 2 feet of floor.
What does the Commercial Pro 50 replace?
Nine pairs of fixed dumbbells: 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 lbs. Added up across both hands, that is 540 lbs. of free weight. For a hotel gym or a training studio, it is a full light to medium dumbbell rack in the footprint of a nightstand.
How is this different from the home use Pro 50?
Two things change: the weight ladder and the warranty. The home Pro 50 uses 5 lb. handles and includes four small 2.5 lb. weights, so it starts at 5 lbs. and moves in 2.5 lb. steps across 19 settings. The Commercial Pro 50 uses 10 lb. knurled steel handles and no micro weights, so it starts at 10 lbs. and moves in even 5 lb. steps across 9 settings. PowerBlock backs the commercial version with a 1 year commercial limited warranty. The home version carries a residential warranty that business use falls outside of, which is the part that matters if this is going on a shared floor.
What comes in the box?
Three boxes with everything you need to train. Two 10 lb. knurled stainless steel handles, sixteen 5 lb. urethane coated adder plates, two commercial grade magnetic selector pins, and the Pro Rack stand. The dumbbells work straight out of the box. The stand needs building and the hardware and tools come with it.

How much room does it need?
Plan on about 2 feet by 2 feet of floor for the stand, plus room to stand and press on either side. PowerBlock lists the Pro Rack stand at 24 inches long, 20 inches wide and 28 inches tall, and lists the footprint on the Commercial Pro 50 page as 21.5 inches by 25 inches. A 3 foot square patch of floor covers the stand and the space around it either way. The stand has no wheels and does not accept casters, so pick the spot before you build it.
Who is this set for?
Facilities that need a real dumbbell range without a real dumbbell rack. Hotel and apartment fitness rooms, corporate gyms, country clubs, and personal training studios all fit. So does any space where a residential warranty would not apply, because this is the version PowerBlock covers for business use. It also suits a training floor that already owns heavy fixed dumbbells and just needs the light to medium range filled in.
Who should skip it?
Anyone whose working sets go above 50 lbs. per hand. This model does not expand and there is no upgrade kit, so the Pro 100 EXP or the Commercial Pro 175 is the better starting point. Skip it if you need 2.5 lb. jumps, because the commercial version has no micro weights. Skip it if lifters drop dumbbells at the end of a set, since PowerBlock stacks are not built for dropping and the pin and rails are what fail. And keep it out of damp garages and sheds, because PowerBlock does not warrant units stored where weather reaches them.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Commercial Pro 50 come with a stand?
Yes. The Pro Rack stand is included in the price and ships in the same order. You do not need to buy it separately.
How many dumbbells does this actually replace?
Nine pairs, from 10 lbs. up to 50 lbs. in 5 lb. steps. That works out to 540 lbs. of fixed free weight.
Can it expand past 50 lbs. per hand?
No. The Commercial Pro 50 is a non expandable model. If you expect to train heavier, start with a larger set instead.
Does it have micro weights for 2.5 lb. jumps?
No. The commercial handles weigh 10 lbs. each with no micro weights inside, so every jump is a full 5 lbs. The home use Pro 50 is the model with 2.5 lb. steps.
What kind of grip does it have?
Knurled stainless steel, 32 mm across and 4.88 inches long. There is no cushioned grip option on this model.
Do PowerBlock bars and kettlebell handles fit it?
Pro EXP Series attachments and the Pro EXP Series kettlebell handle work with the Commercial Pro 50. The Pro 100 EXP versions of those attachments do not fit. Check with us before ordering an attachment so you get the right one.
Does the Pro Rack stand roll?
No. It has no wheels and is not compatible with wheels or casters. Set it where you want it and leave it there.
How does it ship and does anything need assembly?
It ships in three boxes by ground carrier. The dumbbells are ready to use when they arrive. The stand needs assembly, which takes about half an hour with two people, and the hardware and tools are in the box.
What counts as commercial use?
PowerBlock treats any space used for business or shared use as commercial. That covers gyms, spas, chiropractic and physical therapy offices, clinics, sports teams, schools and hospitals.
