PowerBlock Commercial Pro 32 Adjustable Dumbbells
The Commercial Pro 32 is a pair of adjustable dumbbells that runs from 4 lbs. to 32 lbs. per hand. Each dumbbell holds 8 weight settings and measures 12 in. long. This is the compact end of the PowerBlock commercial line, built for gyms, studios and hotel fitness rooms that need light and moderate weights without giving up a wall to a rack.
What does one pair replace?
Eight pairs of fixed dumbbells, which is 288 lbs. of iron. The settings are 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 and 32 lbs. per hand. Add those eight numbers and you get 144 lbs. in one hand, so 288 lbs. across the pair. That is a full section of a dumbbell rack sitting in a space about the size of a shoebox. It is the number worth checking before you compare the price, because 288 lbs. of urethane fixed dumbbells and the rack to hold them costs several times more.
How much room does it need?
Very little. Each dumbbell is 12 in. long, 5.75 in. wide and 5.5 in. tall at the full 32 lb. setting, and the pair weighs 65.6 lbs. together. A pair fits on a shelf, under a bench, or in the corner of a studio. No stand is included.
How fast is a weight change?
A few seconds. Pull the magnetic selector pin, drop it into the slot for the weight you want, and lift. PowerBlock uses a commercial grade magnetic polypropylene pin rated to 500 lbs. on this model, which is the part that takes the most abuse in a staffed facility. Weight moves in 4 lb. steps, a smaller jump than most fixed racks give you in this range.

What is the grip like?
The handle is contoured TPR rubber, 32 mm across and 4.88 in. long. TPR is softer than bare steel, so it is easier on the palms through long sets of curls and presses, and it suits members with smaller hands. This model does not offer a knurled steel handle. If knurling matters to you, look at the larger PowerBlock Pro sets instead.
Why the commercial version instead of the home version?
The difference is the warranty. PowerBlock sells the Commercial Pro 32 with a 1 year limited commercial warranty, which covers use in a facility where members and clients handle the equipment all day. A home warranty is voided the moment equipment goes on a commercial floor, so a gym, studio, hotel or corporate fitness room needs the commercial version to stay covered.
Who it is best for
Facilities that need a light to moderate dumbbell range and do not have floor space for a rack. It works well in hotel and apartment fitness rooms, corporate gyms, physical therapy and rehab spaces, group fitness studios, and personal training studios where one pair has to serve clients at very different strength levels. It is also a good fit for a commercial space that already owns heavy fixed dumbbells and needs the light end covered.
Who should skip it
Anyone who lifts above 32 lbs. per hand. This model does not expand, so 32 lbs. is the ceiling and there is no upgrade kit. It also takes no bars, kettlebell handles or other attachments. If you want a set you can grow into, the PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP starts at 40 lbs. and expands to 100 lbs. per hand. And like every PowerBlock, this one is not built to be dropped. The selector pin and rails are what break.

Is this sold as a pair or a single dumbbell?
A pair. Two dumbbells, two handles, two magnetic selector pins.
Does it come with a stand?
No. The pair ships on its own and a stand is sold separately. Check with us on stand fit before you order one, because PowerBlock stands are sized around specific blocks.
Can it be expanded past 32 lbs.?
No. PowerBlock does not make an expansion kit for this model. The Pro 100 EXP is the set to look at if you need room to grow.
Do PowerBlock bars and kettlebell handles fit it?
No. The attachments in the PowerBlock line are built for the larger Pro and Elite stacks and do not clamp onto the Pro 32.
How many boxes does it arrive in?
Two, one dumbbell per box. Each box is about 33 lbs., so it comes by ground carrier and not by freight truck.
Is there any assembly?
None. Open the boxes, set the pin, and lift.
What does the warranty cover?
