We are the people who actually deliver the equipment
WorkoutHealthy is a commercial gym equipment dealer based in Clarksburg, Maryland. We have been supplying strength and cardio equipment since 2016, and in that time we have placed more than 700 pieces of equipment into gyms, hotels, fire stations, universities, clinics, apartment buildings, and home garages across the country.
That is the part that makes this site different from most fitness sites. We are not writers who tried some gear. We are the company that quotes the freight, uncrates the machine, checks it in, and picks up the phone two years later when a cable needs replacing.
Who we have outfitted
Our equipment is in facilities run by organizations including:
- Marriott hotel properties
- YMCA branches
- Orangetheory Fitness studios
- The Ventura County Fire Department
- George Washington University
Alongside those, we supply boutique studios, corporate wellness rooms, physical therapy clinics, police and fire stations, schools, country clubs, apartment and HOA fitness rooms, and a lot of serious home gym owners who wanted commercial grade instead of big box.
Our founder
WorkoutHealthy was founded by Chris Pruitt, a certified ASFA personal trainer with more than 16 years in the fitness equipment industry and two decades in fitness generally. Chris still runs the sales side of the business, still handles equipment questions personally, and writes and reviews the buying content you read here.
Why a gym equipment dealer runs a magazine
Because we kept answering the same questions on the phone. How much room does a functional trainer really need. Is a leg press worth it if you already own a rack. What actually breaks first on a $2,000 treadmill. Which adjustable dumbbell survives a family of four.
Those answers were sitting in our heads and in our service records, so we started publishing them. Today the site covers workouts and training, health and recovery, and honest reviews of gear, including plenty of gear we do not sell.
To keep that honest, we run the two sides on separate rails. Our product pages are our store, and they carry no affiliate links. Our review articles disclose every commission relationship up front, name competing products fairly, and tell you when the right answer is something we do not stock. What we sell
Most of what we carry is commercial grade: strength machines, functional trainers, power racks, benches, dumbbells and free weights, treadmills and other cardio, rehab and low impact equipment, and the accessories that go with them. If you are outfitting a facility, we can quote the whole room, handle the freight, and work with purchase orders and financing.
A note on services: we are not currently selling installation or assembly services. Our installation history is a big part of what we know, but it is not something you can buy from us right now.
How we work
- Straight answers. If a machine is wrong for your space, your ceiling height, or your budget, we will say so before you buy it, not after.
- Real specs. We publish assembled footprints, shipping weights, and warranty terms as they actually are, not as marketing wishes they were.
- We stand behind what we ship. Equipment arrives new and as described, or we make it right.
- We keep learning. Every service call teaches us something about which brands hold up, and it ends up in what we write.
