PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP Adjustable Dumbbells
The PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP is a pair of adjustable dumbbells that runs from 5 lbs to 100 lbs per hand. You choose your top weight when you order: 40, 60, 80 or 100 lbs. Every version is built on the same base unit, so you can add an expansion stage later instead of replacing the whole set.
How much space does it really save?
One pair takes up about 1.75 feet of floor space. To match the same weight range with fixed dumbbells you would need roughly 30 pairs and a 7 foot rack to hold them. That comparison is the one worth making before you look at the price, because a fixed set covering 5 to 100 lbs costs several times more and takes a whole wall.
At the full 5 to 100 lb build, each dumbbell measures 19.21 in. long, 7.63 in. wide and 7.72 in. tall.
How many weights can you set?
Twenty nine, at the full 100 lb build. The selector pin moves in 5 lb steps, and two 2.5 lb micro weights per handle let you land on the half steps in between. The full range is 5, 10, 15, 17.5, 20, 25, 27.5, 30, 35, 37.5, 40, 45, 47.5, 50, 55, 57.5, 60, 65, 67.5, 70, 75, 77.5, 80, 85, 87.5, 90, 95, 97.5 and 100 lbs per hand.
Smaller builds use the same steps and stop at their top weight. The 5 to 40 lb set gives you 11 settings, the 5 to 60 lb set gives you 17, and the 5 to 80 lb set gives you 23.

Pick the size by your heaviest working lift, then add room to grow. Every size ships as a pair and every size can be expanded later.

If you want to add capacity later, buy the expansion stage that matches the jump you want. Do not order a bigger size here and an expansion kit at the same time. The size you pick above already includes every stage listed in the table.
Knurled steel or cushioned grip?
Both grips are 38 mm across and 4.88 in. long, and both cost the same. The knurled grip is stainless steel with a diamond pattern cut into it, so it holds well in a sweaty hand and it will not wear down. The cushioned grip uses a TPR rubber sleeve, which is softer on the palms and easier on the hands during long sets of curls and presses. If you already lift with a barbell and like the feel of knurling, take the steel. If your hands get sore on metal, take the cushioned.
PowerBlock also sells a narrower 32 mm handle separately for smaller hands.
What comes in the box?
A pair of dumbbells, ready to use. Each dumbbell has its own handle and its own magnetic selector pin, and each handle carries two 2.5 lb micro weights, so four micro weights in total. Nothing needs to be bolted together. You lift the handle out, move the pin to the weight you want, and lift.
How is this different from the Elite USA 90?
The Elite USA 90 uses welded steel plates made in the USA and tops out at 90 lbs per hand. The Pro 100 EXP uses urethane coated steel plates, reaches 100 lbs per hand, and is imported. The urethane coating is quieter when the plates settle and easier on a floor. The Pro 100 EXP is also the same set sold as the Hammer Strength 100, so every Pro 100 EXP attachment and expansion stage fits either one.

Who it is best for
Home gym owners who lift heavy enough that a 50 lb adjustable set will run out, and who do not have a wall to give up to a dumbbell rack. It also suits a small studio or a corporate gym where one pair has to serve people at very different strength levels.
Who should skip it
If you never lift above 50 lbs per hand, the smaller PowerBlock sets cost less and do the same job. If you drop your dumbbells at the end of a set, this is not the right tool. PowerBlock sets are not built to be dropped, and the selector pin and rails are what get damaged. Anyone training in a damp garage or a shed should know PowerBlock does not warrant units stored where weather, moisture or swinging temperatures can reach them.

Is this sold as a pair or a single dumbbell?
A pair. Two dumbbells, two handles, two selector pins.
Can I expand it later?
Yes. Every size uses the same base unit. Stage 2 takes you to 60 lbs, Stage 3 to 80 lbs, and Stage 4 to 100 lbs. Buy the stage that matches the jump you want.
How long does a weight change take?
A few seconds. Pull the magnetic pin, slide it into the slot for the weight you want, and lift. Adding or removing a micro weight takes a few seconds longer.
Do the Pro 100 attachments fit?
Yes. The Pro 100 straight bar, EZ curl bar and kettlebell handle all clamp onto the Pro 100 EXP weight stack. They do not fit the Elite line, which uses a different stack.
Will it ship on a truck?
The 5 to 40 and 5 to 60 sizes ship ground and arrive in more than one box. The 5 to 80 and 5 to 100 sizes cross the freight threshold and arrive by truck on a curbside appointment with liftgate service included.
What does the warranty cover?
PowerBlock covers the Pro 100 EXP for 5 years against defects in materials and workmanship, for residential use. It does not cover normal wear, misuse or dropping. The Warranty tab on this page has the full terms.
Is this the same as the Hammer Strength 100?
Yes. Same set under a different name. Every Pro 100 EXP accessory and expansion stage works with it.
