Body-Solid GFT100SH Weight Stack Shrouds
The GFT100SH is a pair of steel covers that enclose both weight stacks on the Body-Solid GFT100 Functional Trainer. They bolt to the tower frame and close off the open sides of the stack, so nothing can reach the moving plates while the machine is in use.
Why put shrouds on a functional trainer?
An open weight stack has a pinch point every time a plate moves. On a cable machine the plates travel fast and they travel the full height of the tower. A hand or a sleeve near the guide rods at the wrong moment is the most common injury on this kind of equipment.
Shrouds close that gap. They are the standard fix in commercial gyms, and most insurers and facility inspectors expect to see them on any stack a member can walk up to unsupervised.
They also matter at home if children use the room. A stack that a curious kid cannot get a finger into is worth the money on its own.
What does it fit?
The Body-Solid GFT100 Functional Trainer only. One set covers both towers. It does not fit the GDCC series, the S2FTX, or any other Body-Solid cable machine, because the tower profiles are different.
How much room does it need?
The shrouds mount flat against the stack towers and add no meaningful footprint. The GFT100 keeps its 45 in. by 64 in. floor space with them fitted.
Common questions
Can I add these to a GFT100 I already own?
Yes. They are designed as a retrofit. The mounting holes are already in the GFT100 tower.
How long does it take to fit?
Plan on about an hour with two people. The panels are large and awkward rather than heavy, so a second set of hands makes it much easier.
Do they block the weight selector pin?
No. The selector opening stays clear so you can change weight normally.
Do I still see the weight I selected?
Yes. The plate numbers stay visible through the selector opening.
Are they required?
Not by Body-Solid. The GFT100 ships and operates without them. Many commercial facilities require them as a matter of their own policy or their insurer's.
How does it ship?
Freight, curbside. The set weighs 103 lb. and the panels are just under 71 in. long, so it is not a parcel shipment.
