How the calculator works
Split is total time divided by the number of 500 meter segments. The power estimate uses the common indoor rowing relationship between 500 meter pace and watts.
How to use the result
Use the result as a consistent planning number. Record the inputs with the answer so a later comparison uses the same method.
Recalculate when the underlying inputs change. Avoid comparing results created with different units, measurement methods, or machine settings.
What the result does not include
Different rowing machines can report power differently. Drag setting, stroke rate, technique, and fatigue are not captured by average split alone.
Frequently asked questions
What does a 500 meter split mean?
It is the average time needed to cover 500 meters at the pace of the entered effort.
Is the two kilometer time a prediction?
It is a straight pace projection. It does not account for the extra fatigue of holding that pace for a full two kilometers.
